For our children. For our community. For each other.
Making history as Greensboro's first African American man to serve as mayor is just the beginning.
One of my first undertakings as mayor will be to convene a special session of all my City Council colleagues to set priorities. Then, Mayor Mark will work every day to advance our shared agenda.
What will we do without each other? I know you are tired of them keeping us divided so that they can continue to profit off our fear. God teaches us to love our neighbor, not to turn our backs on them. A Mayor Mark Administration will end the fear that has paralyzed us for far too long.
Will my opponents stand up to Donald Trump when he sends troops into our neighborhoods to round people up or when he federalizes local law enforcement to disappear our neighbors? I will. I will fight every day for this Democracy and our way of life.
The increase in crime is a plague on our City. Even more odious is the increase in crime against — and in some cases, perpetrated by — children. I will tackle the root causes of crime with bold initiatives and better economic mobility.
A Mayor Mark Administration will fight to bring prices down, work with state legislatures to increase the State minimum wage to $20.00 an hour, and create bold new local initiatives that help ensure we all have access to health care and affordable housing.
We will make government more transparent, more responsive and more efficient. Recent unethical shenanigans happened right under city council's noses. That will not happen under a Mayor Mark administration.

Guided by his faith and determined to “Balance the Scales”, Mark ran for District Court Judge. Overwhelmingly elected by the Citizens of Guilford County, Judge Cummings became the youngest African American male elected to the Judiciary in Guilford County.
Though a point of pride, Mark’s greatest accomplishments have not been professional, but rather his beautiful twin daughters Evie and Addison Cummings. As a proud girl dad, Mark gained renewed inspiration to re-enter public service. Reminded by Congressman John Lewis that is righteous to get into “Good Trouble” Mark is determined to ensure that his girls have as many rights in their lifetime, as he has enjoyed in his
